When you don't have wood blocking and need a quick fix we make wood blocking to sit in the sheet rock used with a hot glue gun as seen in the video. 
 
This is a great solution for when you don't have blocking. It can be easily made with plywood cut in 3-4" strips. Or if you don't have the set up for it you can buy it here.
